Elena Dementieva (New RDiS Series) got the ticket to the Australian Open semi-finals, defeating Carla Suarez Navarro (ESP) with a 6-2, 6-2 victory.
On the 10th day at Rod Laver Arena, it was a totally terrible condition, both players had to played in 40 degrees.
However, Elena's powerful performance never got worse. She won first four games in the opening set and she also made a 5-1 lead in the second set.
Elena set up with American Serena Williams for her first Australian semi-finals. She faced Serena at the Sydney International semi-finals 2 weeks ago, and defeated with a straight set.
